Hey guys! My name is Matilda… and this is my blog! Ever since I was small, I have absolutely LOVED to write… from adventure stories to journalling everyday I am constantly writing. Although I have never felt like I could share my writing. As a ten year old girl I would make “blogs” (which were actually just word documents) and then delete them because I did not think they were worth anybody’s time.
However, here I am now, sharing my brain with you. Sometimes it will look like I just vomited out my feelings on a page and sometimes it might just be a few simple ideas… but stick with me because hopefully this will impact you in some way or just make you smile!
So let’s start at the beginning… The Name
A couple of years ago, someone shared with me an image they got of me dancing on water… they said that when i felt overwhelmed or when fear began to penetrate my thoughts, I would lift my eyes to my Father, and know that everything would be okay.
Now, almost two years later, this picture still resonates with me. A song I listened to at the time, “We Dance”, by Bethel captures exactly this picture:
“And I will lock eyes with the One who’s ransomed me […] the One who set my feet to dancing.”
Because of His grace, the fact that His blood has ransomed me, I can “Learn the unforced rhythms of grace” (Matthew 11:28 MSG) stepping into all that He has for me knowing full well that I don’t need to worry for He orders His angels to protect me -catching me when I stumble (Psalm 91:12-13).
Obviously, not everything is smooth sailing… there are seasons where I desperately cling to my Father with all that I have, His strength replacing my weakness as He leads me in this beautiful dance called life, but there are others where all I have to do is glance up at Him, an assurance that I am a daughter of the King and that by living with the Holy Spirit inside of me, I can learn how to dance – unforced because of the grace of my Saviour, Jesus, who died on the cross for my sins (which I am SO thankful for), and the constant guidance of my King.
So here I am, sharing my journey and my everyday life as I continue to learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
Feel free to follow along
I hope you enjoy…
Lots of love x
